We call our educational vision "Making Many Mighty". It was on, the 6th of August 2002 at 4.20am, whilst Archbishop was before the Lord in his Prayer Chambers that the Lord delivered to him the vision of Salem University. The vision was stirred up in October 2004 while in a Council Meeting. He proceeded to get the form which was the starting point of series of activities that led to the approval and licensing of the Salem University on 17th of May, 2007 by the Federal Government of Nigeria

As a Christian University, we intend to model our students on the teachings of JESUS that demands love for God which must translate into love for the fellow man; peace at heart which makes the man unruffled by circumstances, for a leader must not waver in the face of challenges.

The Name SALEM UNIVERSITY

Salem simply means PEACE.
It is our partnership pact with parents/guardians, students and staff that we shall provide a peaceful learning environment:

"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

We are out to raise graduates with such peace in their spirit, their soul and reflecting in their physical behavioral pattern of non-violence to their fellow human beings. This is the reason we are introducing such relevant courses as Peace and Development Studies.

This commitment is to help raise leaders that will promote peace in our world. They, therefore, must be spiritually alive, mentally alert and physically developed to change our world for good.

The philosophy of Salem University is to empower and transform our students to be:
